Numbers

1--One week until graduation.

3--Three weeks until we leave for our cruise.

4--The number of children 5 and under currently terrorizing our house right now. We're watching some friends' children while they attend parenting classes in the process of adopting a 3rd child.

17--As in January 17th. My official start date for my new job.

19.4--Miles to hike in and out of the Grand Canyon the week between the cruise and starting work.

27--The number of pounds left to lose before the USAF will pay for CRNA school and pay me a salary while I'm in school, in exchange for 3 years of service.

49--The number of pounds I've lost to date.

235--Current weight, after ballooning up to 241 from 237, and then back down.

  2. Holy crap! You have lost a lot of weight, a major accomplishment, especially during nursing school. You are an inspiration for sure. Enjoy the Grand Canyon and your cruise!

  3. You lucky son of a gun to be able to go on that cruise. Just enjoy the warmth of the sun, soft kiss of a breeze, gentle sway of the ship, and ice cold cocktail in your hand!
Is this USAF payment contingent on you losing this weight? Yikes! Well if anyone can do it, you can! You are disciplined enough to make it happen, look how far you've come! Toot, toot your horn.

  4. CC: Thank you! It is a lot of numbers. And #4 wasn't as bad as I made it sound. They are all great kids.

RNR: I've actually lost the weight since September, :)

Zazzy: The USAF maximum weight for my height is 208 lbs. I will need to be at or below that to enlist. The program is pretty cool, I bring them an acceptance letter to any CRNA school, I enlist at that point, but my "job" is to go to school. They will pay for school--tuition, books, and fees. They pay me a salary + benefits. Then when I graduate, I owe them 3 years of active duty. The salary after graduation is less than what I'd make in the civilian world, but it's still well over $100k a year.
